Bridge Housing is pleased to announce ASB Bank as the newest financial institution to support its First Home Partner programme, providing more aspiring homeowners with access to shared ownership opportunities and making home ownership a reality for more New Zealanders.
ASB joins Westpac as a key banking partner, expanding the lending options available to individuals and families working with Bridge Housing to secure their first home. This partnership is a significant step forward in helping more people overcome the financial barriers to home ownership through tailored lending solutions and shared equity support.
“Bridge Housing is excited to welcome ASB to the First Home Partner programme,” said Jennifer Palmer, General Manager at Bridge Housing. “ASB’s involvement means greater choice and flexibility for our customers, and more momentum for our mission to increase affordable housing pathways across Aotearoa.”
Lex Thornton, General Manager at ASB, commented: “At ASB, we’re committed to helping Kiwis achieve their home ownership goals. Partnering with Bridge Housing is a natural extension of that commitment. We’re proud to support this initiative and look forward to helping more people into homes through the First Home Partner model.”
The First Home Partner programme is designed for eligible buyers who can service a mortgage but need a helping hand with their deposit. Under the programme, Bridge Housing co-invests in a home alongside the buyer, reducing the deposit needed and enabling access to the property market faster than traditional home buying models.
With ASB’s support, Bridge Housing expects to increase the number of families it can assist in 2025 and beyond.
